Bihar Election 2025 Highlights: NDA to release joint manifesto at 9.30 am tomorrow

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will address election rallies on October 31 in Gaurabaram, Alinagar, Kewati, Darbhanga, and Mohiuddinagar Assembly constituencies.

Chirag Paswan will address election rallies on October 31 in Shahpur and Vikram Assembly constituencies.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will address election rallies on October 31 in Maner and Digha Assembly constituencies.

Manoj Tiwari will hold a roadshow in Khagaria tomorrow.

Pawan Singh will launch his election campaign tomorrow and address rallies in Maharajganj, Hathua, and Darauli Assembly constituencies.

Tension gripped Mokama on Thursday after Jan Suraaj worker Dularchand Yadav was shot dead in Taratar village under the Ghoshwari police station area. Police suspect the killing to be linked to election rivalry, as political temperatures rise ahead of the Assembly polls. JDU candidate Anant Singh, who was campaigning in the area at the time, alleged that the attack was part of a conspiracy hatched by Surajbhan Singh.

The BJP lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against Rahul Gandhi over his remark at a Bihar rally that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would go to any extent to win elections, and even perform Bharatnatyam on stage.

"The commission is further requested to issue a show-cause notice to Rahul Gandhi and direct him to tender an unconditional public apology, and to bar him from campaigning," the BJP letter to the ECI said. READ MORE

Rahul Gandhi said Bihar, which was once a centre of education, should reclaim that legacy. He added that Nalanda should have the finest university in the world so that the entire country recognises Bihar as a state that offers the best education.

In Darbhanga, Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor attacked the Mahagathbandhan, calling it a contest driven by corruption and self-interest. He urged people not to be misled by what he termed a "thugbandhan," asserting that the real competition is between the NDA and Jan Suraaj, not the RJD.

Kishor appealed to voters to defeat Nitish Kumar and the BJP-led NDA to bring about a new system under Jan Suraaj, which he said is essential for ensuring better education and employment opportunities for the youth. He cautioned that if voters make a wrong choice this time, they should not regret it for the next five years.

At a public meeting in Nalanda's Hilsa, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that after Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, an earthen lamp has been continuously burning at the Surya Mandir in Hilsa. He recalled that the Ram Mandir was demolished 550 years ago and accused the Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav of preventing its reconstruction for 70 years.

Emphasising Bihar’s cultural connection to Sita’s birthplace, Shah mentioned that five months ago, along with Nitish Kumar, he conducted the bhumi pujan for the Sita Maa Temple project worth Rs 850 crore, which is expected to be completed within two years, with Prime Minister Modi performing its consecration.

He added that the upcoming elections are not merely about electing MLAs or ministers, but about preventing the return of jungle raj in a new form.

In Nalanda, as the first phase of the Bihar elections nears, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi addressed a public meeting, stating that if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar, it will form a government representing farmers, workers, Dalits, and all communities.

RJD leader Rabri Devi has claimed that Nitish Kumar will not return as Chief Minister after the Bihar Assembly polls.

Addressing a rally in Nalanda, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday renewed an attack on PM Narendra Modi over Chhath Puja festivities.

"There are two Indias. During the Chhath Puja, PM Modi decided that he would take a bath in the Yamuna. On one side, there is the reality of India and Bihar, where the Yamuna is polluted, and on the other side, PM Modi built a small pond of clean water. Clean water was brought from pipes so that PM Modi could take a bath in it," he said.

While addressing the public in Chhapra, PM Modi assured that women will get more and more employment and opportunities under Mukhyamantri Rojgaar Yojana if the NDA government comes into power in Bihar.

He further said that so far, the youth of Bihar have received benefit of around 3 lakh crore under mudra loan scheme.

Launching a scathing attack on the RJD and Congress, PM Modi said that these parties are using all their political power to save intruders in Bihar.

After holding a huge public meeting in Muzaffarpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently addressing a massive rally in Chhapra. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described five identities of the RJD-Congress alliance in Bihar. "RJD-Congress can be identified by five things. What have the RJD-Congress done? Katta, krurta, katuta, kusashan, corruption... Where there is 'katta', where cruelty reigns, there the law breaks down," he added.

In a big attack against the opposition Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday accused the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal of insulting Chhath Puja in the poll-bound state.

"The Congress and RJD are insulting Chhathi Maiyya. Can anyone insult Chhathi Maiyya for votes in the election? Will the people of Bihar and the country tolerate this?" he said.

While addressing a mega election rally in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the Centre was working to get Chhath Puja included in the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage list. "This will be a matter of pride for every Bihari and every Indian. Our government is striving to ensure that the world also learns from these values," he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed a mega campaign rally in Muzaffarpur district, during which he predicted the ruling NDA's return in Bihar following the upcoming Assembly polls.

"Yaha ki litchi jitni meethi hoti hai, utni hi meethi hai boli bhi hai (The litchis here are as sweet as the language spoken here)... I can see many young individuals and women have gathered here. Phir ek baar, NDA sarkaar," he said to a roaring applause from the crowd.
