Sushila Karki sworn in as Nepal's interim Prime Minister

Following widespread Gen Z protests against corruption, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki has been appointed as the interim Prime Minister of Nepal, making her the first woman to hold the office. The landmark decision was reached after a consensus between protest leaders, President Ram Chandra Poudel, and Army Chief Ashok Raj. Karki, who was also Nepal's first female Chief Justice, took the oath of office to lead a government for a six-month term, after which fresh elections will be held.
